Tom Stanten has always put service to his community first. As a U.S. Navy veteran, he deployed aboard the USS Carl Vinson. As a retired NYPD Detective Investigator and community leader, he protected New Yorkers in tough assignments across East New York and Southern Brooklyn.
Today Tom owns a motorcycle shop in Sunset Park — a small business owner who knows what working families are up against. He's running for State Senate to bring steady, boots-on-the-ground leadership to Albany, and to put the people of District 26 first.

As a retired NYPD detective, Tom will back the men and women who keep us safe — fully funding law enforcement, standing with victims, and restoring public safety across Brooklyn's streets and subways.

Every child deserves the chance to reach their potential. Tom will protect gifted and talented programs in our schools and give parents a real voice in their children's education.
Fix the R train
Brooklyn deserves transit that works. Tom will fight to fix the R train — upgrading sensors across Brooklyn's MTA stations and cutting the time riders wait between trains.
